  Potentiometer and Case Upgrade Options explained: The XPR6550 is the only radio we sell that has two upgrade options for potentiometers and cases. Here's what these upgrade options mean:
  
  1. Potentiometer upgrade: When new, these radios have a "click" resistance feeling on the power knob which is felt when turning the radio on/off. This from a device called a potentiometer. Worn potentiometers are a common issue with this model - which removes the click feeling - but still allows the radio to be fully functional. Some users don't care about this issue, but others prefer the click so they know the radio is turned on/off. By default, we sell this radio with worn potentiometers without the click feeling. However, we do offer the option to purchase a functional potentiometers option at checkout. When you select the "Buy & Add Options" button, you can select which potentiometers you prefer.
  
  2. Case upgrade option explained (Grade A or Grade B): XPR radios have large LCDs and keypads which are prone to scratches. These scratches do not impair the radio's functionality but some buyers consider them unsightly. We offer these radios with two case options, Grade A and Grade B. Grade A cases have minimal cosmetic defects, and generally look new. Grade B cases have visible cosmetic defects, including scratches and marks, but the LCDs and keypads are fully visible and functional. Choosing Grade A or Grade B is a cosmetic-only decision, and therefore we let the buyer choose which they prefer. Please see the second picture for an example of a Grade B case.
