how do i know if im ordering the right one to communicate with others here ? does it just work automatically or do they have to do something ? i dont see a g# anywhere

On the back of the radio, behind the battery, is the full model #. If that’s the same, the radios are fully compatible. If they aren’t, you would need to see what frequencies you use to see if they fall within the frequency range of the radio. Also, the radio will need to be programmed to match your existing radios, so if you send us one of your existing radio, we will program them to match.
