We understand that buying radios “from a guy on Facebook” is not a pleasant experience - never mind riddled with risk. However, we’ve made a decision to not program GMRS frequencies into any of the equipment we sell. The reason is that only some radios are approved for GMRS use. While others can only be used on certain GMRS frequencies.
We do not want to be responsible to explain what a customer can and can’t do on GMRS. And we also frown upon the abuse of GMRS frequencies, especially those using digital and encryption. Thus, we stay away from GMRS for a multitude of reasons.
As a reminder, the buyer of any radio is responsible for ensuring their equipment is approved for their frequencies. They are also responsible for ensuring they have a proper FCC license.
