I work events and need a radio that is licensed free that can cover multiple blocks within a downtown environment.

These radios only work in an open environment (no walls or major obstructions), up to 100,000 SQF - or smaller locations (if there are obstructions). Your best bet is to obtain a FCC license and get some higher powered equipment. We can refer you to a company that can help with a license.
